Great Buy for First-Time-Mama's

This is my first pregnancy, and I'm very happy I purchased this book. Meghan Trainor will make you laugh and she gets very real with youโit was almost as if I was hanging out with an old friend when I sat down to read. It's a mix of a memoir, a diary, and advice from experts including her personal trainer and her OB/GYNโincluding exercises by trimester and recipes. She also recommends some products without being sales-y.
If you're a first-time-mom (or even if you're not), this is a great buy that's not like other pregnancy books (those can sometimes be information overload in my opinion). This would also be a great gift for a newly pregnant friend. You don't have to be a Meghan Trainor fan to enjoy this book.
Book Highlights/Helpful Thoughts
- One of my favorite phrases was "influencers are great, but they make pregnancy and labor an aesthetic, and girl, pregnancy is not an aesthetic, it's rough!"
- Meghan wanted to give birth vaginally, but due to complications, she had to have a schedule C-Section and she talks about that experience extensively is a way that was helpful. I'm personally doing everything I can to have a natural vaginal birth, but life sometimes has other plans. It was helpful reading her take instead of reading the Reddit horror stories. I now know what to expect in a non-traumatizing way if I were to need a C-section.
- Meghan was pregnant during the height of the Covid Pandemic in 2020โso her experiences are based on that. I say this, because she talks a lot about how her husband could not join in at any of her ultrasound appointments and her labor team was limited due to the restrictions. Thankfully appointments are no longer like that.

MUST read! Best pregnancy book so far and I'm in my 3rd trimester.
Format: Hardcover
I cannot put into words how quickly I absolutely INHALED this book! I haven't done that since I was a teenager! It was midnight before I realized I had blown through the first 3rd of the book. I finished it the next morning cause I could NOT put it down. I audibly laughed and cried (in a good way) and felt the most seen I have felt my entire pregnancy (this is my 1st). I felt like I was reading my own diary and am having my husband read it next so he can understand what I haven't been able to put into words for him these last 6 months. My favorite parts were reading Daryl's takes on situations and how much of a team he and Meghan have been since day one. My husband and I felt like we have been doing things "wrong" cause he's been so involved and he really hasn't felt like he could relate or talk with most of his male friends cause they still perpetuate the typical, hands off male role. If I could personally thank and hug Meghan for sharing her story, I would. Thanks bestie ;)

Relatable, easy read, great tips
Format: Hardcover
I appreciated how balanced this book was - from personal reflection (from multiple view points - especially dad advice) to recipes to data to exercise ideas. This book was a great pregnancy tool.

Such a good book!
Format: Hardcover
I really enjoyed this! I felt at ease and so much more calmer about pregnant . Megan wrote this book so well and in a way that makes you feel like youโre in a safe space and like youโre talking to a friend . Itโs raw, itโs real, itโs funny and so honest.
